SAP COMMERCE CLOUD MEANS FOR HYBRIS CUSTOMERS

What Is SAP Commerce Cloud?

The architecture of SAP Commerce Cloud has flexibility, agility, scalability, with cloud-native experiences. It helps deliver simple digital transformation, personalized digital commerce experiences, and accelerate time-to-value.

Hybris was acquired by SAP in 2013 to serve as their primary e-commerce platform. SAP initially designated it SAP Commerce. They later changed the name to SAP Commerce Cloud. At the moment, with the cloud-based SAP Experience Suite in place, the Hybris/SAP Commerce Cloud product offering has reached the end of its life and support.

To further complicate matters, this is not the primary SAP solution within the SAP Customer Experience Suite to be dubbed the Commerce Cloud. SAP Commerce Cloud builds on top of SAP Hybris and is the only supported commerce platform of SAP. SAP Commerce Cloud offers a single solution for commerce for B2B, B2B2C, and B2C use cases. SAP Hybris want to coordinate all new clients and direct them onto their cloud-based hosted solutions. A version of on-premises is available for clients who prefer to manage and administer their own commerce software stack. In any case, the on-premises version of the Commerce solution fails to profit from the quarterly component updates that the Commerce Cloud version receives. Clients who are not in the cloud will only receive feature updates once a year.
